In Chapter 23, this happens:

• Max has too much on his mind and is unable to sleep.
• Max is mad at himself for wasting so much of his time doing nothing.
• Max again thinks of turning himself in.
• Worm is ready to go find her father.
• Worm's dad is at the railway station, but it's all boarded up.
• There is a tunnel inside the station that goes into the mountain.
• Worm's father was a miner, and he died when Worm was very young.
• Worm's miner's helmet belonged to her dad.
• Max hears a cop car siren.
